It situated at river Yamuna. History of Agra 

Agra is city on the bank of Yamuna river in state of Utter Pradesh. It is most Fourth most populous city in India. Agra name is explain by different derivations Like: Hindu history claiming that it comes from AGRAVANA which means grove forest. Agra (अग्र ) + van Agravana. Other history about Agra is that Sultan Sikandar Lodhi ruler of Delhi  it founded in the year 1504 after sultan city passed on his son Ibrahim Lodhi. After Lodhi sultanate Agra fell into the Mughals. At the Mughal era it is know as Akbarabad. Agra is capital of Mughal until Shahjhan shifted his capital to shahjhanbad.

Travelling Agra (Taj Mahal) – 

 No introduction needed for Taj Mahal, Everyone know about this world wonder Taj Mahal There are three entrance to the Taj Mahal South, West and east. Taj Mahal built by Shahjahan in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. It most famous building in India. Itsituated in the East in the city. It is mixer of Indian, Persian and Islamic Style. Taj Mahal is A good example of Mughal architecture. Taj Mahal open from sunrise to sunset from 8 am to 5 pm. Best time to visit Taj Mahal is rainy time or sunrise time. 

Itmad – ud – Daulah

Itmad – ud – daulah is Mughal mousoleum. It is also call Baby Taj or bachcha Taj. Itamad -ud -daulah built in between 1622 and 1628. Its first phase of itmad ud daula Built from Red Sand stone and second phase built by white marble. its is located on Eastern bank of Yamuna River. This tomb is Mirza Ghiyas be and his wife Asmat begum. He was father of Nur-jehan and grand father of Mumtaz Mahal. He was Vasir at the itmad-ud-daula. Nur-jehan built this tomb for her parent’s memory. Here is Persian style Gardens. It is follow char bhagh style. After Taj Mahal best option. It’s opening time Sun rise to sun set.

 Agra Fort (Red Fort) 

Agra fort is a historical place in the Agra. It is recognise as Red Fort. It is recognise Lal Qila or Qila-i-Akbari Because Akbar shifted capital Agra from Delhi. Agra fort is inscribe as  a World Heritage site. It is about 2.5 km area and its wall are seventy feet high. Agra fort has Four Gate on its four sides Khizri Gate, Delhi Gate, Lahore Gate and Darshni Gate. Best time to visit Red fort is early morning, winters and rainy days.

Sikandra  

 It is name Sikandar on Sikandar Lodi’s name,This tomb situate at Sikandar it is 13 km away from Agra. It is make from Red sand stone and white marble. Its main entrance from road. you can see beautiful main gate from road and its four towers. By entering There is a small gate is call Salami Gate built by Mughal Emperor Jahangir. there is a big gate main gate call Jahangir Gate. 

Guru ka Tal

 Guru ka Tal is important pilgrimage for the Sikhs. This gurudwara wbuilt in the memory of ninth Guru Teg Bahadur ji. Guru ka Tal located is near Sikandara. Lakh Sikhs devotees visited every year to pay respect and seeking blessing. It is historical place, this Gurudwara built over the place where Guru Teg bahadur offered him self up for arrest to Aurangzeb. According to many sources it was a taal (reservoir). It built in 1610 AD to collect & conserve rainwater. The Gurudwara call Guru ka Tal was built in 1970, arduous efforts of Sant Baba Sadhu Singh Mauni. Best time visit Guru ka Tal during Sikhs festival. There is no entry fee. It is open from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm. To know more about it Click Here.
